2000 HR contest winners

OTB would like to extend a big thanks to Chris Augeri of the Marlins for all of his efforts in organizing and setting up this contest, Lenny Wagner of the Marlins who coordinated the Dracut HS field, the food for the barbeque, the grille, and helping with the additional fence. Also to Mic McDermott of the Cubs for help with the fence, pitching, catching, and competing, Warren Macneil of the Braves for raking and preparing the field, lining the infield with chalk and providing the red, white and blue bunting for the backstop, as well as pitching, catching, and competing.

Thanks also to John Harris of the White Sox, and Francisco Faria and Kevin Fleming of the Yankees for their rubber arms in throwing hundreds of pitches to contestants as well as competing themselves. Thanks to Frank Serafini of the Giants for bringing the L-screen on top of his station wagon for the protection of the pitchers, and Brian Burgess of the Athletics for cooking the hamburgers and hot dogs for the contestants and all the loyal fans and other OTB players that came by to watch the contest. Thanks also to Andrew Coppola of the Marlins for helping Brian with the barbeque as well as taking the pictures for the web site. This year's contest will help us guage how we can improve next year's contest.

A note from Chris Augeri: "Without the effort of these people, events like this can't happen. On behalf of Over Thirty Baseball, I would like to extend my deepest appreciation for all your help. Because of all our efforts we reached our goal of raising enough money to play our Championship Game at LeLacheur Field - Home of the Spinners."
